This place is always consistently great. My favorite soup bases are definitely the tomato and curry. The seafood and vegetable plate are always so fresh, and you are given endless sauce options to try everything with. The views from the restaurant are a nice little bonus. It's great comfort food, especially on a chilly evening. The service is always fast, and they are really on top of things there. Can't wait to go back!

I visited during a vacation to SF back in November. This was one of my favorite meals in the area! Everything was fresh, and the place was quiet when we went so we didn't even need a reservation! (Came right when they opened for dinner). Our servers were attentive and even gave us an extra dish of quail eggs. We ate every bit of our food and left very full and happy! For the pricing as well, we thought this was a great dinner and a god spot to come back to in the future. Would recommend for hot pot lovers

Always love me some hot pot. Especially when it's not in my plans and it tastes so good. Entire family left happy after eating here. I do like going to the one in Union City best just cause it's all you can eat, but I was still very pleased coming here. The staff was very quick and helpful the entire time. And the place with big windows to have a view of the street and city is pretty nice!

It's absolutely phenomenal! I thought it was going to be ridiculously expensive, especially because it was my first time in a hot pot restaurant that served al carte. I see how it reduces food waste. Broth: Half spicy and half bone marrow. The spicy can get super spicy if you don't pull out the peppers. I allowed mine to keep cooking throughout because I wanted to be able to take it home. You can most certainly tell the marrow broth has been developed over time with great care. Meat: I ordered the marbled shaved steak, and it was amazing. You can tell it was high-quality meat. Kimchi: The absolute highlight! I have never tasted kimchi that was so well made. I've eaten a lot of it over the years. I can eat several bowls of this stuff if I could just because it was that good! Veggies: Napa cabbage, corn, cilantro, green onions. All fresh and a great additive to the soup. Staff: they were all very attentive, and it was appreciated because I hate when plate stack up and I'm left without wiggle room on the table. My water also never ran low, and my broth was refilled any time it looked lower than it should. All without even asking. At one point in time, I accidentally flung my chopstick onto the floor, and someone immediately picked it up and brought me another without hesitation. The establishment as a whole appears very clean and organized.

We love hotpot and this is hands down our favorite spot in the city. We've tried lots of other items on the menu since my last review, so updating it with my new top recommendations! Also I only recently found out that you can request bibs to protect your clothes while you enjoy the hotpot?! Game changer. They've also put in robots on wheels that bring you parts of your order while you eat. Here's your guide to Happy Lamb Hot Pot: ------ BROTH RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Original Marrow Broth - They spend hours letting all the meat, bones, and ingredients simmer to make this tried and true classic with the deepest, richest flavors. 2. Premium Lamb Bone Broth - If you love lamb, THIS IS WORTH IT. The soup has the warm lamb flavors and there are big lamb bones with meat on them in the pot, so it's like you got both broth and meat in one. 3. Tomato Broth - Tangy and delicious, a great option for vegetarians. It also cuts through beef / lamb fat very nicely if you do eat meat. 4. Mala Peppercorn Broth - Distinct peppercorn taste with the slight mala numbness. Tried this recently, loved it, and next time we want to ask for a stronger version! ------ MEAT RECOMMENDATIONS: You can tell they actually use premium cuts of meat, and the marbling I've seen on some of their special meats has blown me away for the price. You really can't go wrong with anything, but our #1 rec is: 1. Hand Sliced Beef Short Plate - Beef pieces on the fattier side that not only taste incredible for hotpot but also make the broth taste better afterward ------ OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Fried tofu skin - Just get it and thank me later. Eat it alone for max crispiness, or let it soak in any of the broths (tomato is great for this though) for 1-2 minutes and then enjoy 2. Fresh Thick Noodle - Besides the fried tofu skin, this is my other absolute weakness. It's like ordering 2-3 of the best noodle bowls in the city for less than $10 3. Enoki mushroom - Our favorite mushroom to add because if you're trying to have fewer carbs, you can think of these as a nice noodle substitute 4. All the veggies are fresh so you can't go wrong with any of your favorite staples ------ LAST THOUGHTS: Price wise, I think this place is extremely reasonable given the quality of the ingredients you get. I've been to cheaper places where they skimp out on quality and it makes a big difference. Go to any sit down restaurant in Union Square and you're easily spending at least this much (if not much more) on food that might not be as nourishing and filling.

Came here with a group of 9 and this place was super fun to go to! We even got a private room. Good: - So much variety! I had so much fun choosing what to get from the extensive menu - The tomato broth was absolutely my favorite - The noodles were great too, I liked the hand pulled ones and the udon - The meat was all really yummy and I liked beef and the pork the best Bad: - Decently long wait times, pretty busy around dinner time - Decently expensive, but what did you expect from hotpot? Overall I would come again! It's a great group event.

This Happy Lamb is in the downtown SF area. It is a busy area, so parking may be hit or miss, but there is a parking garage a few blocks away, if you do not mind the walk. I tried their AYCE Hot Pot and it was a lot of delicious foods. The dining area is upstairs, and there is plenty of seating. The service was quick as well, everything came out in a timely manner. I opted for the Best of Both Worlds soup broth, which is half of their original broth and the other half is their spicy broth. There are so many choices to choose from - they have different meats/meatballs, noodles/hot side dishes, vegetables/tofus/mushrooms, seafoods items, and desserts. Some of my favorite choices included the different kinds of beef they had, the beef balls, fish balls with roe, imitation crab sticks, beef tripe, quail eggs, and more.

I heard Happy Lamb Hot Pot has one of the most popular soup bases for hotpot and I had to try. My friends and I came during lunch hour and they had one of the best lunch specials I seen. For $18.99 you get a plate filled with everything you need, from veggies to seafood and your choice of protein. Best hotpot deal for sure. Soup base we got the mala and traditional bone broth. But were so tasty. For the mala, you can also adjust the spice level, just let the server know. One of my friends got the lamb lunch special and I got the beef. We also got a side of the lamb to try out the difference. The meat was fresh and everything was so delicious. I can't to come back and also visit them during dinner service too. The restaurant is huge, service was super nice and must try their plum juice. Good to drink when you have hotpot.
